Voting Question: Why do country singers sing about coming to California?

Jo Dee Messina, "Heads California, Tails California" Kenney Chesney, "There goes my life" Keni Thomas, "Shreveport to LA" It is do or die, California or bust...It is in the lyrics and titles of many country music songs. Jo Dee Messina is getting on a greyhound bus, Keni Thomas is riding in the back of a pick up truck and Kenney Chesney is heading for the coast. Why don't they stay where they are? There is fresh air, open space and beautiful countryside. Even their own country music is played there. Not here in Los Angeles, CA. What is up with California? How and when did people get on that bandwagon of coming to California? I and so many others want out.... read more
